Following our recent film review, and ahead of the 20th January, 2023 UK premiere of Emily Atef'‘s stirring film, More than Ever, we caught up with lead actress and Cannes award winner, Vicky Krieps.

More than Ever charts the end of Helene’s life and the choices she makes to reassert control over her terminal illness. Raw and honest, More than Ever is essentially a love story, but the vulnerability of this end of life journey is unlike any other coming out of Hollywood.

Hot on the heels of More than Ever, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival in May 2022, Vicky’s new film Corsage - a biopic of Empress Elisabeth of Austria - is sure to trigger award nominations a plenty. Seemingly from polar opposite genres, what unites these two films is Krieps’s passion to inhabit the two brave and independent characters of Helene and Elisabeth until they become a second skin.

Both roles challenge the limits of their husbands’ and social circles, as well as challenging the viewer to confront difficult but important issues, but as Vicky reveals in this intimate interview, this is the unique power and potential of film.
